Hostels of the campus:
There are total 6 hostels for boys and girls both. Four of them are for boys and two of them are for girls. These are the names of them.
For boys:
- Sant Kabir Hostel
- Gautam Budhha Hostel
- Swami Vivekanand Hostel
- Nath Chandrawat Hostel
For girls:
- Maharani Laxmibai Hostel
- Alaknanda Hostel
Sant Kabir Hostel:
Sant Kabir Hostel of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University is a PG Boys Hostel with a single occupancy capacity of 147 rooms. This hostel provides residential accommodation to the postgraduate students of Science, Commerce, Arts and other streams studying in the University campus, on the basis of their merits and distances from their native homes. For a quality education, Wi-Fi facility will be resumed very shortly to the students. CCTV cameras are being installed for the watch of Hostel activities. Presently, Prof. Umesh Yadava is the warden, and Dr. K.M. Mishra, Dr. Virendra Kumar Madhukar and Dr. Om Prakash Singh are the superintendents and are contributing in the upliftment of the hostel.
Gautam Buddh Hostel:
In this hostel, students of Hindi, English, Geography, History, Ancient History, Sociology, Chemistry and other subjects are allotted. The Gautam Buddha Hostel has a total of 98 rooms. The Gautam Buddha hostel is allotted twice: in July and December. Presently, Prof. Ravi Shankar Singh (Department of Physics) is warden. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari (History) and Dhyanendra Narayan Dubey, (Ancient History) is the superintendent.
Swami Vivekanand Hostel:
The foundation stone of Swami Vivekananda Hostel was kept on 10 March, 1974 by thenhonorable Chancellor Mr. Akbar Ali Khan. Since 2001 this hostel was being allotted to law students only. Currently Prof. Chandrasekhar (Department of Law) is the warden and Prof. Ahmed Naseem (Department of Law) and Prof. Anil Kumar Yadav (Department of Commerce) are the superintendents of the hostel.
Nath Chandrawat Hostel:
Nath Chandrawat, is the first hostel of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. It was constructed by then Secretary of "Nath Chandravat Kosh Trust" Mr. Madhusudan Das. The hostel is named after Swargiya Dulah in Chandravat Kunwari and late Nath Baksh Singh. Babu Nath Baksh Singh ji of Gorakhpur district was a zamindar of Jagdishpur State. The foundation stone of this hostel was kept on May 6, 1956, according to Ekadashi date of Vaishakh month-Krishna Paksha of Samvat 2013.
This hostel is currently allotted to under graduate students. The hostel has a capacity of about 270 students. From 11 December 2018, Prof. Ajay Kumar Shukla (Department of English and Modern European Languages) is the Warden of this hostel. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh (Department of English and Modern European Languages),Dr. Ashish Kumar Shukla (Department of Law) and Dr. Amit Kumar Upadhyay (Department of Political Science) are working as the Superintendents.
Maharani Laxmibai Hostel:
Maharani Lakshmibai Women's Hostel is one of the largest hostels of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur. This hostel has been dedicated to Veerangana Rani Lakshmibai and has 203-rooms. It consists five buildings Godavari Bhavan, Kalindi Bhawan, Mandakini,Kadambari-I and Kadambari-II. It is located in Golgharand has accommodation for about 500 girl-students of the university.In this hostel students of B.A., B.Sc, B.Com., M.A. (all subjects), M.Com., L.L.B., B.C.A., M.C.A., L.L.M. etc. reside. At present Prof. Vinita Pathak (Department of Political Science) is the Warden, Dr. Tulika Mishra (Department of Botany) and Dr. Aarti Yadav(Department of Defence and Strategic Studies) arethe superintendents
Alaknanda Hostel:
Alaknanda Women's Hostel has a total of 54 rooms for Ph.D. and Post-Graduate students, with a total accommodation for 143 girls. The cleanliness and other facilities of the students in the hostel are supervised by the staff of the hostel. The main objective of the hostel is to ensure reading and learning in a peaceful environment by providing clean and healthy environment to the students. Prof. Shobha Gaur (Department of Education) has the responsibility of the Hostel wardenand superintendents are Dr. Mitu Singh and Jyotibala (Department of Education).
Apply Process of hostels:
In every new sessions,after counselling and admission process are over, hostel apply process starts.
For hostel,online application form is submitted through the campus official website www.ddugu.ac.in. After applying online,a hard copy of application form alongwith other documents photocopies like 10th marksheet,12th marksheet, entrance marksheet,adhar card,caste certificate,income certificate, graduation passed marksheet (if apply for Post graduation hostel),etc. are submitted to respective hostel offices. After all this a cutoff list is released based on score of entrance exam and previous classes for different categories. A student having name in it can take hostel by paying hostel fees.

Fees:
Hostel fees is charged once for whole year. Every hostel fees is exactly same or average of each other. Fees of Rs 25k to 27k is charged for whole year including mess charges. Fees is paid through online mode. You can have two installments to pay this fees. Fees is non refundable.
Facilities:
In hostel,each room is alloted to two students. Each room has everything separate for the students. Each room has two separate cupboards,two separate beds,two separate study tables,fans,bulbs, electricity,RO water,wifi, bathroom, toilet rooms,etc.
Foods items in hostel mess:
Each days has separate food items present in mess. You can take any amount you want to eat. I have explained this in below embedded YouTube video.
Affordability:
Now let's talk about affordability of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University hostels. First of all this hostels fees is low as compared to private hostels so sometimes it seems like affordable but in facilities or cleaning, this hostel is very worst so this hostel is affordable in matter of only fees. If you want to have better cleaning and hygienic so this hostels are not suitable for you.
